Storytelling – delights that warm & enfold us, darker imaginings that spook & shiver. Deep buried folklore & fairytales, mellow memories of a mumbling radio, ups & downs of smallholding, all our various animals inspire me.

I work small scale (to suit our small world!) with pen & ink, with colours that match season & place, & with a nod to 1950’s poster style. Days scything brambles, mucking out beasts, milking goats, digging, planting, weeding, melt into jolly pictures, but there is always a little dark shadow!

I moved to within three miles of Britain’s most Southerly Point 16 years ago from the landlocked north London metropolis commuter-belt-land.

Working from my own sketches and drawings, using my trusty Peter Child pyrography machine, I create unique pieces inspired by the beauty I see in the world around me.

Variety seems to be the spice of life. I love to tackle any project; From wedding place settings, coasters, wooden household items, to illustrating poems. Pet portraits to botanical illustrations, bugs and insects to spring hares.
